It's time...for less saccharine ads

This video by GetUp Australia for gay marriage has been posted all over Facebook, Twitter, etc this week. While I wholly support the cause and think it's such a timely and positive approach, does anyone else think it's the most saccharine video ever?

All the comments on the video are the same -- "Oh, it made me cry!", "tears welled up", etc. My god, this video for me was so painfully sugary and corny I wanted to throw up.

Also, what's up with the lack of diversity? Two white gay guys? Okay... Let's face it, out of all the people in the LGBT community today, they probably have it the easiest. I may have missed the point entirely because that's not what this video is about - duh, Francis, it's about marriage discrimination - but I think this dialogue is important for future campaigns to come. I'm so over seeing pretty much a white gay male moan and whine about his "problems" on every gay-themed media from Queer as Folk to DNA Magazine. Or maybe it was the wrong day for me to watch this video. Oxford Street, gay media in Sydney and a sleazy taxi driver have truly bored me.

Hmmm, this is post is so bitter. Apologies.

Ricki Lee: Raining Diamonds single launch at Midnight Shift, Sydney 5.11.11 - WORLD EXCLUSIVE!!

Australian pop singer Ricki Lee launched her new single Raining Diamonds at the Midnight Shift in Sydney last night and randomly I was there to watch the festivities.

Ricki grabs her thigh as she thanks the audience. Yes, that is her.
As I didn't even know Ricki would be performing that night, I did not have a decent camera on me so I apologise for these heinous pictures from my phone. But I can write that the vibe of the night was great, the drag queens and male dancers were hot (especially one named Rory...) and Ricki's voice was pretty spectacular. She also sang Can't Touch It before exiting the stage less than 10 minutes after her 'launch' started at like 3am in the morning.

Like the movie The Ring, all my pictures had this weird glare on her face?! At least you can see her thigh action!
Fun fact, this is the second time I've seen Ricki perform live. The first being that time I went to watch the last ever Australian Idol finale and she sang her underrated flop Hear No, See No, Speak No.

You can kinda see her face in this one...lol
It's funny, this blonde guy kept squishing into the front and pushing my friend back. Turns out he worked for Ricki. He could've told us that he needed to position himself to get her jacket instead of grunting and huffing sneering glares at my friend...

New Anthony Callea: "Oh Oh Oh Oh"

Anthony Callea has gone dance with his brand new single Oh Oh Oh Oh. The song will be released on October 7, according to his official Facebook page.

He performed the song recently at the Italian Film Festival:

Did the festival take place at a Westfield of some kind?

Anyway...what do you think? Comment away.

Katherine Kelly Lang's 21 yo son is also a BOLD star

What's up with some kids from rich famous parents getting into porn? First there was Montana Fishburne (daughter of Laurence "Morpheus from The Matrix" Fishburne) who put her spoilt brat no-no all over the internet using her real fucking name.

Now it's Jeremy Skott Snider, the 21 year old son of Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke from The Bold & The Beautiful). RadarOnline reports that this guy now does gay porn with Sean Cody under the name of Nick.

Here he is before his "scene":

Oh dear. What the hell is he thinking? Better yet what does Stephanie Forrester have to say about this? I'm sure she'll slap Brooke for letting her offspring act like a total tramp aka follow in his mother's footsteps:

Gross...Seven to spin-off Loser series?

Would you like to see that bogan family off Winners and Losers star in a brand new show of their own? Channel Seven seem to think so, and are apparently writing a potential spin-off surrounding The Gross Family. I can totally picture them using that title, too. Some exec is probably like, "he he, that's funny cause their last name is gross and they're also gross bogans!"

Winners and Losers started out okay but after about three episodes in, it turned into a cliched mess and has this weird reflection of Australian life that's stuck in the 1980s. Plus there's too much of Blair McDonough for my liking. He has this really creepy, haggard new look that scares me.

I have no idea why Channel Seven seem to think that a show surrounding the Gross family would make good TV. They already have a family-based drama on air right now. It's called Packed to the Rafters.

Actually...I would totally watch a spin-off of both Packed to the Rafters and Winners and Losers if it concentrated on Ben Rafter (Hugh Sheridan) and Patrick Gross (Jack Pearson) both realising that they're gay and they fall for each other. At least that wouldn't be a stretch for Hugh (or so I've read)...

WARNING: Watch this video on mute. It's horrendously awful...

Stop Calling Me! or something...

Stop calling me, calling me
Please stop stalking me, stalking me
Just a fantasy, fantasy
That you have with me

Let me make it clear
To you my dear
If you're not in it for love
I'm outta here!

I was under your spell for such a long time couldn't break the chains
You played with my heart tore me apart with all your lies and games
It took all the strength I had but I crawled up on my feet again
Now you're trying to lure me back but no those days are gone my friend

Get outta my way

Gay birds are in it for life! Must be Shania fans.

Gay birds in Southern California are loyal mates in it for life, apparently. A recent study found that all male zebra finch birds stayed with their male mate even after female birds were introduced.

Guess these birds are fans of Shania Twain. They clearly adhere to her golden rule that "if you're not it it for love, I'm outta here".

The study's lead researcher, Julie Elie said that "Relationships in animals can be more complicated than just a male and a female who meet and reproduce, even in birds".

So these birds have found their life partner and will live happily ever after with their gay mate. Fucking birds! Why can't it be just that easy for the rest of us.

Nikki Webster's grim plea to Got Talent star: LEAVE AUSTRALIA!

Former child star Nikki Webster has today turned into a public mother hen, passionately warning Australia's Got Talent finalist Jack Vidgen to leave Australia due to tall poppy syndrome.

In case you've forgotten (and that's highly likely...), Nikki was that annoying little girl from the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Afterwards she had a brief singing career, peaking with her debut hit single and bogan teen romance anthem Strawberry Kisses:

Webster laments to the Sunday Telegraph that she wishes she "knew to get out of Australia at age 14, but I chose to stay in my home town and got burnt for it".

I actually agreed with Nikki here. The main reason I've been so taken aback by her comments today is because she sees it fit to compare herself to Kylie Minogue:

"Hopefully (Jack) can learn from what I went through, because I guess I was one of the first in Australia to go through it, other than Kylie".

Oh no she didn't!

Firstly Nikki, sorry girl but were never as big as Kylie even at your peak. You weren't even as big as Dannii Minogue

Secondly, "one of the first"? I don't think so... unless the world started in the 1980s.

Other than that, Nikki does have a point. Jack better watch out because he may follow in her suit and find himself in five years time releasing heinous "comeback" singles like:

...or maybe desperately performing his one hit single at a Sydney gay club. See Nikki's crowd-stopping performance of Strawberry Kisses at my friend's favourite club, The Midnight Shift below:

Eating Out 3 - All You Can Eat: A Film Review...saved from my old blog

I'm currently thinking about transferring my old blog to this one. Not sure yet...but I did take a look at some of my old draft posts. Good lord. It's a digital trash and treasure market, for real.

Amongst the drafts I found this nifty little review of the comedy, Eating Out 3: All You Can Eat. I wrote it during a dark time last year when I used to procrastinate by watching lame movies instead of dong uni work!

Here it is:

Eating Out 3: How I Wasted Two Hours of Study Time.

Sooo rather than I dunno, continuing with my college work I decided to watch Eating Out 3: All You Can Eat instead.

I really disliked the character, Tiffany in the first two movies, mainly because she was so over-the-top. But in this movie, since it doesn’t feature Marc or Kyle, she is the only one left in the franchise. She’s still funny too. After Casey tells her of his desire for romance rather than sex, the hypersexual Tiffany quips “It’s called homosexual, not homo-hug-ual”.
Please don't judge me, it’s funnier when you watch this shit at four in the morning.
This time round, the main character is Casey, a skinny, sensitive twink. Casey has the hots for hunky  Zack (Chris Salvatore). He’s so enamored by him after their first meeting, Casey stalks Zack’s online profile straight away. At this point, the movie had a very realistic vibe going on. Very realistic.

To alleviate the stalker-vibe, Casey and Tiffany come up with a zany scheme of inventing a fake profile, using pictures of one of Tiffany’s (many) hot ex-boyfriends.
Of course, the plot doesn’t really matter.
I thoroughly disliked Casey, I thought he was super whiny and a terrible, fugly actor to boot. But the worst actor by far though was Zack’s ex-boyfriend Lionel (played by some dude off a Janice Dickinson reality show). The way he kept mumbling his lines, I had no idea what the hell he was saying. Coming a close second was Zack’s ‘sassy’ friend, who was a wannabe Margaret Cho.
It was light hearted albeit poorly acted fun until the filmmakers threw in an overtly-saccharine, melodramatic speech in the end about LGBT centres. I liked the idea of it, but the way they went about it was…not very good to say the least. It felt way too forced and out of place in a film where the two main characters engage in deep conversations inexplicably shirtless having a picnic. The only thing I liked about the speech scene was when some random in the audience mistook Tiffany for a drag queen.
Oh, forget about plot. You want the details: two peens on screen and some pretty mechanical, hilariously cheesy sex scenes. Oh and for some reason, there are also two of the most bizarre scenes in which Lionel jacks off in front of Zack's door (WTF?) and later, Tiffany gets herself off randomly. The screenwriter was smoking crack.

TWO stars of out FIVE: one star each for Tiffany and Zack ;P
Watch Eating Out 3 alone when you’re desperately bored of life and wanna see a lol-worthy flick during the early hours of the morning.

Anthony Callea's new comeback efforts

Anthony Callea has begun a new comeback effort, starting with headlining performances at Stockholm Gay Pride week. The 28 year old is also reportedly working on his third studio album, according to The Daily Telegraph.

In recent years, Callea has turned his efforts to musical theatre and reality television, even combining the two in the form of Foxtel's original series Ultimate School Musical: Fame. His pop career however sharply declined after his brief peak in popularity immediately post-Australian Idol.

It's interesting that The Daily Telegraph's article randomly mentioned that he's a fan of The Voice. Is he going to mentor on the forthcoming Australian version?

GaGa hits Sydney gay bars?

Lady GaGa has caused a huge stir tonight on her social networking sites by posting this cryptic message:

"Thinking of going out in Sydney Tonight. How I wish we had a show. NEVERMIND, don't listen to me. Maybe i'll just go for a walk in the pARQ."
Source
So did she go to Oxford Street or not? Were you there? What happened?
Also I loved her random shout out to Tracy Grimshaw, promoting an appearance on tacky tabloid show A Current Affair.
