It's rumoured that Network Ten is looking to revive the cheesy teenybopper Australian classic Young Talent Time next year. No doubt the lame American musical show Glee has inspired this move.
In case you have forgotten this show (lucky you...) or are simply too young to remember, YTT was a television "institution" that terrorised Australian audiences for decades. Week by week, it featured children desecrating pop songs with heinous covers. See the video below:
The Mickey Mouse Club discovered the likes of Ryan Gosling, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. YTT discovered the likes of Dannii Minogue, Tina Arena and...that's it.
I will only watch the new version of YTT if it just starred Dannii Minogue performing by herself for an hour a week. Of course, they would have to change the show's title to reflect this change. It would simply be called "Time".
